Pope County Humane Society
Home

Pope County Humane Society was established in 1985 and incorporated in 1987.  We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, dedicated to caring for lost, abandoned and stray animals.  Seeing a need to support our community's homeless and lost animals, we formed our organization to provide safe and sensible re-homing solutions. We've grown considerably since then, all thanks to the helping hands of this amazing community!

We are located at 17584 195th Ave, Glenwood, MN 56334 and have the ability to take in found and cats and dogs whose owners are no longer able to care for them in Pope County, get them vetted, and find them a forever home. We pair with local veterinarians to make sure the animals that come to PCHS are healthy and safe to be adopted.

Our shelter is run by amazing, caring staff that take great pride in caring for animals. We are grateful for amazing volunteers and fosters that support the shelter, whether that be with donations, transports, caring for sick animals, socializing with animals, or helping us with upkeep of the shelter. We also are supported by the Class Act Thrift Shop in which household items can be donated and then are sold to raise funds for the shelter. The Pope County Humane Society is made up of an expanding Board of Directors that guides progress and support for the shelter.

Our goal is to keep growing within our community to provide the best care for the homeless cats and dogs that need our help. If you are interested in helping, please don't hesitate to contact us!
